ELGIN, Texas (KXAN) — Parents in Elgin ISD sid they were shocked to see spoiled milk being served to their kids in school cafeterias.“Just seeing it grosses me out,” an Elgin ISD parent who wished to remain anonymous told KXAN.Parents in the district reached out to KXAN after they said there have been multiple issues with spoiled milk. AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A little more than a month after Jesús Garza was asked to temporarily take Austin's city manager seat, Garza has shaken up the city's leadership structure and is working towards establishing what he thinks will be more collaborative office procedures. Garza is being asked to fill the city manager role after council and the mayor voted to part ways with former city manager Spencer Cronk last month. The body expressed concern about Cronk's handling of the February winter storm and police contract negotiations, among other issues."While I understand that change can lead to some anxiety, in the end the way we grow, the way we develop is to be challenged," Garza said. "If you're comfortable being challenged, you're going to be absolutely alright in this new structure." Coaldale RCMP- updateCoalhurst, Alta. – On March 27, 2023, at approximately 8:50 a.m., Coaldale RCMP were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Township Road 10-2 and Range Road 232, north west of Coalhurst. The collision was between a school bus and a pick-up.It has been determined that there were further injuries as a result of this collision. The bus driver suffered serious injuries, but it is expected that they will make a full recovery. One child was taken to hospital and suffered a concussion as a result of the collision. At the time of the collision there were 18 kids on the bus.A 25-year-old male, a resident of Coalhurst, has been charged with failing to obey a yield sign under the Traffic Safety Act. FESTUS, Mo. - A Missouri woman and animal dealer has been ordered to pay hundreds of thousands to PETA in a lawsuit over the faked death of a movie-star chimpanzee. Tonia Haddix claimed the chimpanzee had died when she really had it locked in her basement. National nonprofit PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) previously filed a lawsuit claiming that Tonka and other chimpanzees were not getting proper care through Haddix and living in unsafe conditions.A federal court ordered Haddix to pay more than $220,000 in attorneys’ fees and costs to PETA to end the lawsuit, accusing Haddix and her husband repeatedly committed perjury and submitted false information to federal courts.
